Altar Guild
The members of the Altar Guild
prepare the church and altar for Sunday, weekday, and Holy Day
Eucharists, as well as for weddings and funerals, by doing
light cleaning and setting up vestments, candles, silver,
linens, flowers, and hymnboards. The Guild is made up of four
teams, each headed by a contact person and serving one
Saturday a month. Team members work about one hour on their
assigned Saturday. Two team members usually arrive about 15 to
20 minutes before the Sunday services for last-minute
preparations. Two members also remain about 35 to 40 minutes
after the 9:30 a.m. service, to put away materials from the
morning services and set up for the evening service. Coverage
for weekday and special services is arranged on a flexible
basis, depending on team members' availability.
