Habitat for Humanity
During the past few years, St. John's
has provided volunteers for Saturday work days at local rehab
or construction sites operated by Habitat for
Humanity--Chicago South Suburbs. Volunteers 13 and older of
all construction skill levels, from the non-existent but
willing to the professional, are always welcome. In addition,
volunters who are 16 and older are invited to spend one week
during the summer participating in St. John's annual youth
mission trip to work with the Habitat organization in Muncie,
Indiana. This mission trip is sponsored in cooperation with
the Church of the Transfiguration in Palos Park. Adult
volunteers are also needed to accompany the youth on these
mission trips, or to become stockholders in our youth by
providing financial support for these mission trips.
