Prayer Shapes Belief
Worship is one of the basic ways all people are
formed into what it means to be Christian.
- We
experience belonging to Christ and are included
as full members in his Church.
- We
are nourished by memorable, shared experiences
of Christian community.
- We
are enriched by the beauty of music and art as
expressions of praise and as human responses to
God.
- We
hear stories from the Bible read and interpreted,
and begin to see Christian worship as one place
where God may speak to us.
- We
witness and are drawn into the drama of Baptism
and Eucharist as signs of God's kindness, favor,
and love.
- We
discover that we are valued as persons by God and
by the People of God at Church.
- We
have a profound capacity, particularly during the
toddler and preschool years, for spiritual awareness
that yearns for nurture within a worshipping and
witnessing community.
- Bringing
children to worship may not always be easy, but
it is an essential part of their growth in Christ.
The Body of Christ assembled is incomplete in their
absence. They need us and we need them.
- And
the body of Christ is incomplete when any one of
us is absent. Each person is an essential part
of this Christian community.
